Glue Down
Engineered Hardwood floors are the most common type of floor used for glue down. They vary in length, width and thicknesses depending on the manufacturer. The bottom of the planks are made of soft plywood to make the bonding and bending with sub-floors possible.
This application is popular in residential homes, commercial locations and tall buildings.

Adhesive Application
Glue down floors are installed by spreading the adhesive with a trowel on a clean and even sub-floor. Using a chalk strait-line the installer will measure out two to three feet of coverage area to install the boards before moving on to the rest of the room.
Note that the surface must be flat, completely clean, and free of any chemicals or oils. In some cases the sub-floor will need to be skim coated to level the surface. This can be achieved with a self-leveling cement.
