Floating Floors
Floating floor installation does not need glue-down, stapling or nailing required because the individual boards lock to each other instead of to a sub-floor, so the wood floor essentially "floats" over the sub-floor.
Engineered, laminate and vinyl boards that are able to be floated feature edges with a locking mechanism. This installation method delivers a tight fit and seamless appearance. We highly recommend this system for any concrete slabs and plywood sub-floors.
Most floating floors will require an underlayment for moisture barrier and good sound acoustics.
